History

The indigenous Sasak tribes

Most of Lombok's population originates in the Sasak people. The Sasaks have cultivated the island's land for centuries, respecting its relief and nature. Living traditionally in bamboo dwellings, they continue to practice spiritual rituals to honor nature and their ancestors. You may hear the chants and gamelan music that resonate in the surrounding area. The Sasak practice a religion close to Islam called Wektu Telu, incorporating animist traditions.

Balinese conquests

Ferry

The ferry provides an authentic experience, connecting Padangbai (Bali) to Lembar (Lombok) multiple times daily.
